‘The Waterfront’ (2025)

What happens when the richest family in a small town runs out of money? Kevin Williamson — the creator of Dawson’s Creek and the Scream franchise — shares his answer in the new series, The Waterfront. Harlan Buckley (Holt McCallany) — the patriarch of the family and husband of Mae Buckley (Maria Bello) — has a contentious relationship with his son, Cane (Jake Weary). But when Harlan decides to bring the family into the drug trade to revive their finances, there’s not much Cane or his sister, Bree (Melissa Benoist), can do about it.

Harlan may have badly underestimated the consequences of tying his fortunes to an unstable drug lord like Grady (Topher Grace), but there’s no coming back from these choices. If the Buckley family doesn’t pull together, financial ruin is the least of their worries as the DEA starts closing in on them.

The Waterfront will stream on Netflix on June 19.

‘The Survivors’ (2025)

The Survivors is an Australian thriller that takes place in the shadow of a tragedy that claimed the lives of three people: Finn Eliott (Remy Kidd) and his friends, Toby (Talon Hopper) and Gabby (Eloise Rothfield). Fifteen years later, Finn’s brother — and the only survivor — Kieran Elliott (Charlie Vickers) returns to Evelyn Bay to a very frosty reception from the town. Even Kieran’s mother, Verity Elliott (Robyn Malcolm), blames him for what happened.

After Kieran’s homecoming, a young woman named Bronte (Shannon Berry) takes the opportunity to ask questions about Gabby’s death that don’t add up. When Bronte is found murdered, her own death opens an investigation into what really happened 15 years ago, and it also throws suspicion on Finn’s family.

The Survivors is streaming on Netflix.

‘Eva Lasting’ (2023 – Present)

The late ’70s are still alive in Eva Lasting season 3. This period teenage romance takes place in Colombia and centers on Camilo Granados (Emmanuel Restrepo) and his permanent crush, Eva Samper (Francisca Estévez Navas). She was the first girl to attend his all-boys school, and she’s very modern compared to everyone else in the ’70s.

Season 3 picks up with Camilo, Eva and the rest of their friends getting ready to enter college. Eva wants to go to school in the United States, but it’s not going to be easy for Camilo to follow her. He’s got a young daughter with his ex-girlfriend, Luisa Salcedo (Sara Pinzón), and he may have to choose between taking care of her or following his heart with Eva.

Alan Tudyk headlines the series as Harry Vanderspeigle, and he’s the weirdest small-town doctor you’ve ever seen because he’s actually an alien who came to Earth to destroy humanity.

But this is more of a quirky sci-fi comedy than a hard drama, and Harry comes to love the humans around him. So much so that he defies the orders of his people to defend them. By the time season 3 rolls around, Harry’s in the unusual position of working with his human friends to save the world from the grey aliens. But he may be out of his depth as the aliens unleash their plans for Earth.
