Food Network Deaths Through the Years: Anne Burrell and More Stars

The Food Network has lost many great chefs to tragic deaths over the years.
In June 2025, fans, friends, family and members of the restaurant community mourned the shocking death of Anne Burrell, who was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn, New York, apartment at 55 years old.
“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered,” her family said in a statement to Us Weekly on June 17, 2025, announcing her untimely death. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
Burrell was best known as a cohost of Worst Cooks in America. After getting her start as Mario Batali’s sous chef on Iron Chef America, the late chef spent decades cooking in front of the camera — but she’s far from the only Food Network star to have left their culinary mark on the world.
