Aaron Rodgers’ Friend AJ Hawk Addresses Mysterious Ring and Wedding Rumors
UPDATE — 5/7/25, 2:00 p.m. ET: Aaron Rodgers’ friend, AJ Hawk, addressed marriage rumors circling the NFL quarterback after he was seen wearing a ring over the weekend.
Hawk, 41, attended the same Kentucky Derby party as Rodgers, 41, on Friday, May 2, where Rodgers was seen with the new hardware on his finger.
“It was not a wedding party from what we knew,” Hawk said Tuesday, May 6, on The Pat McAfee Show. “To tell you the truth, I don’t know if I have any answers on that situation. He’s very private and mysterious when it comes to things like that, and this is definitely one of those, for sure.”
Hawk said he did “not press” Rodgers to divulge any new updates about his personal life.
However, Hawk — who was teammates with Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers for nine seasons from 2006 to 2014 — said Rodgers seemed “very happy” and “looks good physically.”

The NFL quarterback, 41, sparked marriage rumors after stepping out with a dark-colored band on his wedding ring finger at Louisville’s 2025 Barnstable Brown Gala in Kentucky on Friday, May 2.
Social media fans jumped online to share theories, with one user posting a video via X on Sunday, May 4, that captured Rodgers on the red carpet. “Looks like AR is officially a married man??? peep the ring on his left ring finger,” the fan captioned the post.

Aaron Rodgers Reveals He Has a Girlfriend Named Brittani
The ring’s debut followed Rodgers’ recent romantic admission, with the free agent telling ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show during an April 17 video call that he is dating someone and things are serious. “I’m in a different phase of my life,” Rodgers said at the time. “I’m 41 years old. I’m in a serious relationship. I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention. I have personal commitments not knowing what my future was going to look like after last year that are important to me.”
In December 2024, Rodgers also revealed on The Pat McAfee Show that he had a girlfriend named “Brittani,” clarifying that it wasn’t Britney Spears but instead a “Brittani with an I.”
Prior to Brittani, Rodgers attracted headlines for his high-profile relationships, previously dating Olivia Munn and getting engaged to Shailene Woodley. (Rodgers and Woodley, 33, split in February 2022 after becoming engaged in February 2021.)
Of his relationship with Brittani, Rodgers added in December that she is not on social media, noting that while she does not watch McAfee’s show, she is a fan of the sports commentator. In response, McAfee thanked Brittani for her support, joking that the world had suddenly learned that Rodgers was “in love,” which drew Rodgers to confirm, “It’s a good feeling, boys.”
Rodgers’ relationship with Brittani was the first to be publicly addressed since his split from Woodley. After Rodgers and Woodley split, the Big Little Lies actress opened up about the emotional toll their breakup took on her.
“I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry,” Woodley said during a December 2024 interview with Outside magazine. “It was not right. But it was beautiful.”
Woodley said later in the interview that she went through a “really awful, traumatic thing” in 2022, which seemingly overlapped with the end of the pair’s relationship. “I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy,” she said of a dark six-month period she experienced that year. “I really understood depression and anxiety and complete soul detachment.”
