If You Like ‘Doctor Odyssey,’ Watch These 3 Shows Now
Fans can’t get enough of the ABC medical show Doctor Odyssey. The popular new series stars Joshua Jackson (Dawson’s Creek) as Dr. Max Bankman, an onboard doctor for a cruise ship.

‘The Pitt’ (2025)

It’s a pulse-pounding series that has high stakes and an almost manic energy that will keep you glued to the screen.
The Pitt was praised by the medical community as a realistic representation of what working in a hospital is really like. You’ll love the varied cast of dedicated doctors — especially Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, to whom Wyle lends his uniquely endearing charm. ‘Brothers and Sisters’ (2006-2011)
If you’re a fan of Doctor Odyssey, you should definitely check out series creator Jon Robin Baitz’s other hit show, Brothers and Sisters. Oscar and Emmy-winning actress Sally Field leads this drama about the wealthy Walker family. After the death of the family patriarch, the Walkers must learn to make their own way as secrets and lies are revealed.
Fans love the realistic family dynamics between the siblings, the dramatic and engaging storylines and the performances from the ensemble cast. (Other big-name actors in Brothers and Sisters include Emily VanCamp, Rob Lowe and Calista Flockhart.) If you love the luxurious world of Doctor Odyssey’s cruise line, step into the Walker family mansion. You won’t regret it.

‘Dr. Death’ (2021-2023)
Before Joshua Jackson played the heroic Dr. Max Bankman, he portrayed another medical professional with far fewer scruples. Jackson lives up to the show’s title in his portrayal of the real-life disgraced doctor, Christopher Duntsch. (Duntsch was found guilty of intentionally maiming his patients during surgeries and sentenced to life in prison.)
In this drama series, Jackson gives a chilling performance that manages to feel grounded instead of cartoonish. The supporting cast is excellent — Christian Slater (Dexter: Original Sin) and Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) play two surgeons who are determined to stop Duntsch’s sadistic ways. It’s a true-crime story starring an extremely capable actor, and watching both Dr. Death and Doctor Odyssey will help you appreciate Jackson’s underrated range.
