Jennifer Garner Honors Ex-Husband Ben Affleck on Father’s Day

Jennifer Garner is making sure to wish ex-husband, Ben Affleck, a Happy Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot,” Garner, 53, wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, June 15.
Alongside the tribute, Garner shared a throwback photo of Affleck, 52, laying on a couch with a newborn sleeping on his chest.
Jennifer also honored her late father, William John Garner, who died in March 2024. “Being fathered by someone who loves being a dad is a gift,” Jennifer wrote via Instagram on Sunday. “My sisters and I know this and (lucky for us) all of our kids do, too.”

She continued, “Happy Father’s Day to the Dads, no matter where you are. To the uncles and grandfathers and father figures, too. We love you.”
Jennifer and Affleck, who tied the knot in 2005, are parents to children Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Sam, 13. The pair were married for a decade before splitting in 2015 and finalizing their divorce three years later.
“I’m really lucky that I have a really good coparent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well,” Affleck said in a March interview with GQ.
In May, Affleck and Jennifer reunited to celebrate Mother’s Day with their kids. Affleck was spotted arriving at Garner’s Brentwood, California, home at the time with Sam while holding a small gift.
After splitting from Affleck, Jennifer moved on with John Miller. In April, a source close to the couple exclusively told Us Weekly that Miller was “basically living with Jennifer part-time.”

Affleck, for his part, went on to rekindle his romance with ex Jennifer Lopez. (Affleck and Lopez, 55, were previously engaged and set to be married in 2003 but called off their relationship.)
The twosome exchanged vows in 2022 before filing for divorce two years later. One month after Affleck and Lopez finalized their divorce in February, he broke his silence on their decision to part ways.
“There’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something. But honestly … the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting,” he told GQ in March. “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue [about our divorce]. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no, ‘This is what happened.’”
Months later, Affleck was approached by TMZ and asked how “Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor” was feeling in Spanish. Affleck laughed off the question in May and replied in Spanish, “Muy bien,” which translates to “very good.” When asked if he “still” likes Latinas, Affleck responded, “Of course I do.”
