Kyrsten Sinema, the former Arizona senator, is embroiled in a legal dispute following allegations of an affair with her former security guard, Matthew Ammel. The lawsuit, filed by his wife, Heather Ammel, in North Carolina accuses Sinema of seducing Matthew throughout 2023 and 2024, despite his marital status. Heather claims that Sinema was aware of their marriage and pursued a relationship that crossed professional boundaries.

According to the lawsuit, Sinema allegedly engaged in behavior that included sending Matthew romantic texts that were deemed inappropriate for a professional setting. The documents detail instances where she purportedly described missionary sex as “boring” and even sent him a provocative image while dressed in a towel.

In a shocking twist, the lawsuit accuses Sinema of influencing Matthew to bring illegal substances on a work trip, intending to guide him through a psychedelic experience. The couple reportedly attended multiple social events, including music festivals, during which Sinema was described as getting “handsy” with Matthew, leading him to remove his wedding ring.

These claims remain unverified, but they have sparked significant public interest and media coverage. In June 2024, Heather Ammel sent a text to Sinema from her husband’s phone, directly confronting her about the alleged affair: “Are you having an affair with my husband? You took a married man away from his family.” This message was sent shortly before the couple separated approximately five months later.

In her lawsuit, Heather claims that Sinema’s actions have caused irreparable damage to her marriage, resulting in financial strain and emotional distress. She is seeking $25,000 in damages for the alleged harm caused by Sinema’s conduct.

Kyrsten Sinema, who previously served as a Democrat in Congress from 2013 to 2019, transitioned to becoming an independent in 2022 and has announced that she will not seek re-election in 2025. As of now, no representatives for Sinema have provided comments regarding these serious accusations.
