Lana Del Rey’s Highly Anticipated Album

Lana Del Rey’s new album has generated considerable excitement, ranking prominently on virtually every list of the most anticipated music releases for 2026. However, confusion surrounds the album’s title, which has undergone several changes. Currently, the album is referred to as Stove, following earlier titles Lasso and The Right Person Will Stay. Here’s a detailed look at what we know about this much-anticipated project.

The Long Tease

Throughout her illustrious career, Del Rey has often shifted release dates and album titles, but the rollout for this album has been particularly drawn out. Her last full-length project was the 2023 release, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Interestingly, Del Rey first hinted at a country-themed album about five years ago. In 2023, she shared a series of country-inspired covers, including renditions of ‘Stand by Your Man’ in September, ‘Unchained Melody’ in November, and ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ in December. During a Billboard event in February 2024, she confirmed that she had collaborated with renowned producer Jack Antonoff on a country album in Muscle Shoals, Nashville, and Mississippi. Initially titled Lasso, this album was slated for release in September 2024.

Title Changes and Delays

In November 2024, the album’s title was changed to The Right Person Will Stay, with a new release date set for May 21, 2025. However, this date also came and went without the album’s release. In an August 2024 interview with Vogue, Del Rey mentioned plans to drop two additional singles by the end of that year, yet those songs did not materialize. The following year, she did manage to release two singles, ‘Henry, Come On’ and ‘Bluebird’, although the controversy surrounding her diss track aimed at Ethel Cain raised questions about whether any of that material would be included on the album.

Introducing ‘Stove’

A year after the Vogue interview, Del Rey confirmed in a conversation with W magazine that the album would now be titled Stove. Interestingly, the title Classic had previously been leaked by the publication via social media. As for its release date, she indicated that Stove would “likely be released at the end of January” 2026. However, as of now, the album has yet to drop.

The Reason Behind the Delay

When explaining the latest postponement, Del Rey shared, “They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time.” Despite the delays, she reassured fans that the sound of the album would largely retain a country flair, maintaining the essence she had promised since the project’s inception.

Tracklist and Expectations

As for the tracklist, no official confirmation has been made yet. However, besides the singles already released, several other potential tracks have been teased or performed live. These include ‘57.5’, ‘Quiet in the South’, ‘Stand by Your Man’, and ‘Stars Fell on Alabama’. Fans eagerly await further updates on the album as its release approaches.
