Media’s Anti-Rowling Bias Speaks Volumes

Two key words help explain the Legacy Media in 2025.
Projection and narrative.
The latter refers to the storylines reporters enforce with their work. Anything President Donald Trump does or says is framed in the worst light possible, for example.
It’s why CNN beclowned itself by giving a sympathetic interview to a cartel member.
Great piece as always @NolteNC. To all progressives, if you watch @CNN, you are siding with gang members and terrorists.

It also explains the Legacy Media’s never-ending assault on J.K. Rowling. The woman who helped a generation of youngsters love reading with her “Harry Potter” series is now the media’s go-to villain.
Why? The progressive author isn’t on board with the entire trans agenda. That’s her crime. She’s been the recipient of negative news coverage since she first started speaking out in 2020.
It’s gotten worse of late as Max’s “Harry Potter” TV series reboot comes closer to reality. She’s an executive producer on the series, and understandably so.
There’s no boy wizard without her.
It’s why media outlets wondered if Rowling would insert an “anti-trans” message into the upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series. That was Deadline’s big worry mere days ago.
Although she who must not be named is heavily involved in the upcoming Harry Potter series, Warner Bros. is distancing itself from her views.
Yes, a journalist compared Rowling to her book series’ monstrous villain.
Fair. Balanced. Trustworthy. Oh, and the story is also inaccurate.
HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys told The Town podcast with Matthew Belloni that the author is entitled to her “personal, political views.”
“If you want to debate her, you can go on Twitter.”
Bloys spoke common sense. He didn’t distance the company from Rowling. He treated her like an adult. That’s all.
Here’s where the projection comes in.
Liberal journalists know how progressive scribes inject their personal, political views” into many stories of late. Their projection assumed Rowling would do the same if given the chance.
Except she’s not interested in anything above and beyond telling Harry Potter stories.

Now, Rowling is making it clear she has no interest in firing a “Harry Potter” co-star whose views don’t align with hers.
Paapa Essiedu, who will play Professor Severus Snape in the series, signed an open letter asking UK’s entertainment industry to “commit to protecting the trans community.” The letter comes after the UK Supreme Court decreed that trans women aren’t technically women-women.
Entertainment workers routinely blacklist those who don’t align with their world view. Just ask James Woods and Kevin Sorbo, two prominent examples of this mindset.
So, surely, Rowling will use her clout to sack Essiedu, right?
“I don’t have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn’t exercise it if I did. I don’t believe in taking away people’s jobs or livelihoods because they hold legally protected beliefs that differ from mine.”
Another Legacy Media narrative, crushed. Expect many more anti-Rowling stories in the weeks and months to come.
Editor’s Note: It’s a brutal time to be an independent journalist, but it’s never been more necessary given the sorry state of the corporate press. If you’re enjoying Hollywood in Toto, I hope you’ll consider leaving a coin (or two) in our Tip Jar.
