‘On the Other Way’: Sensity Studio’s New Open Call Supports Emerging Women Artists Across Europe and the U.K.

“On the Other Way,” a free open call by Sensity Studio, presents a unique opportunity for emerging women artists in contemporary visual arts. Applications are currently open.
In an effort to address the persistent underrepresentation of women in the arts, Sensity Studio — a women-led creative organisation — has announced On the Other Way, an open call aimed at emerging women artists seeking greater visibility across the United Kingdom and Europe.
The programme offers a range of professional development opportunities, including curatorial mentorship, portfolio reviews, and strategic career guidance. One artist will be selected to receive three months of bespoke public relations support, including media placement, brand development, and participation in a group exhibition in Barcelona.
Three additional finalists will receive personalised feedback and one-on-one consultations to help strengthen their artistic practice and position their work within the broader market.

“Women artists don’t struggle because they lack talent. They struggle because the system still isn’t built for them,” said Dina Mostovaya, founder of Sensity Studio. “With On the Other Way, we want to give these artists what they often lack: access, guidance, visibility, and the tools to succeed.”
Despite decades of progress, gender disparities remain entrenched in the art world. Studies have shown that work by women artists continues to be priced significantly lower than that of their male counterparts — in some cases, by a factor of ten. Sensity Studio’s initiative seeks not only to spotlight emerging talent but to equip women artists with the tools to build lasting, sustainable careers.

Sensity Studio was founded with a mission to elevate female voices in contemporary art — a commitment that goes beyond visibility alone. “This programme is meant to connect emerging women artists with key players in the art ecosystem — curators, gallerists, and institutions — and help them build bridges that last,” Mostovaya added.
Through this open call, the studio hopes to foster long-term connections between artists and the often inaccessible networks that shape international careers, while also drawing attention to the structural gaps that continue to hinder women’s progress in the field.
Submissions will be reviewed by a jury panel of experienced professionals in the contemporary art field:
- Carmen Ballesta, a digital art curator, founder of CBO Art Agency and co-founder of TAIRA Studio;
- Huma Kabakcı, an independent curator and art producer, and the former founding director of Open Space Contemporary;
- Silvana Lagos, a curator, writer, cultural strategist, and the Artistic Director of Meridian Creative Centre – El Anatsui;
- Alisa Lisovskaia, an art curator and digital art producer, Art and Culture Programming Manager at art’otel London Hoxton;
