Cori Broadus, 26, announced the heartbreaking news earlier that day, sharing a black-and-white photo of herself holding her daughter. “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. In a subsequent heartfelt post, Cori reflected on the tragic loss occurring just 20 days after Codi’s release from the NICU, expressing her deep pain: “20 days later? Dawg I’m sick.”

Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also mourned the loss, posting a poignant message on Instagram that read: “I’ve been the saddest since you left me Codi Dreaux. But I know you [are] at peace. Daddy will always love you.” Previously, Cori shared on January 6 that she was finally able to bring Codi home after a challenging 10-month stay in the NICU, due to the baby being born three months premature in February 2025.

Expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support, Cori wrote earlier this month, “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.” The Mayo Clinic identifies babies born before 28 weeks of gestation as extremely preterm, often facing complications such as breathing issues and difficulty regulating body temperature.

Throughout the past 10 months, Cori documented her experiences as a NICU mother on social media, sharing insights into her daughter’s resilience and strength. In a September 2025 interview with Us Weekly, she described Codi as a “feisty girl” with a lot of character, stating, “The doctors and nurses always tell me, ‘Your baby got her mind. She’s smart. She’s alert. She knows what’s going on.'” She remained hopeful for her daughter’s journey, reflecting on the challenges faced during their time in the NICU.

Earlier, Cori opened up about her spiritual journey and the challenges she faced, revealing that she had been diagnosed with lupus at age 6 and suffered a stroke at 24 in January 2024. Expressing her renewed faith in God after her stroke, she shared, “I told him, ‘God, if you get me out of here, I’m gonna tell the world about y’all and tell the world you’re real.’ And He did exactly that. And He gets me through.”

Snoop Dogg shares three children with his wife, Shante Broadus: sons Corde, 31, and Cordell, 28, along with daughter Cori. Additionally, he has a son, Julian Corrie Broadus, 27, from a previous relationship.
