The original series, Roseanne, starred the following actors in the main cast:

- John Goodman as Dan Conner
- Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris
- Michael Fishman as D.J. Conner
- Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner
- Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke both played Becky Conner in various seasons of the sitcom.

Most of these cast members returned for the spinoff series, with the exception of Roseanne Barr herself. Barr was asked not to return to the franchise due to a series of controversial social media posts.
